SUPERNOVA 1999gp IN UGC 1993

Papenkova and Li also report the discovery by LOSS of an apparent supernova (mag about 18.0) on Dec. 23.2 UT (and confirmed on Dec. 24.2 at mag about 17.2). SN 1999gp is located at R.A. = 2h31m39s.15, Decl. = +39o22'52".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 11".4 west and 9".9 north of the nucleus of UGC 1993. A KAIT image of the same field on Dec. 18.2 showed nothing at the position of the supernova (limiting mag about 19.0).
