SUPERNOVA 2000dr IN IC 1610

M. Modjaz, D. Weisz, and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, on behalf of the Lick Observatory Supernova Search (cf. IAUC 6627, 7126), report the discovery with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) of an apparent supernova on unfiltered images taken on Oct. 5.3 (mag about 18.1) and 6.3 UT (mag about 17.8). The new object is located at R.A. = 1h01m44s.04, Decl. = -15o34'09".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is 20".9 east and 5".5 south of the nucleus of IC 1610. A KAIT image of the same field taken on Sept. 27.3 UT showed nothing at the position of SN 2000dr (limiting mag about 19.0).
