Novae in NGC 224

NOVAE IN M31

Beutler and Li also report the LOTOSS discovery of two apparent novae on unfiltered KAIT CCD images of M31. The first nova is located at R.A. = 0h43m01s.07, Decl. = +41o16'20".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is 188".8 east and 11".6 north of the nucleus of M31. Unfiltered KAIT magnitudes for the first nova: Jan. 12.2 UT, [19.0; July 20.5, 18.0; 22.5, 17.9; 23.5, 18.1. The second nova is located at R.A. = 0h43m06s.51, Decl. = +41o16'34".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 250".1 east and 25".8 north of the nucleus of M31. Unfiltered KAIT magnitudes for the second nova: July 20.5 UT, [19.5; 22.5, 16.0; 23.5, 16.6.
