M. Papenkova and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, report the LOTOSS (cf. IAUC 7906) discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered CCD images taken with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on June 2.5 (mag about 17.4) and 3.5 UT (mag about 17.1). SN 2002df is located at R.A. = 20h45m39s.33, Decl. = -4 57'04".7 (equinox 2000.0), which is 27".1 west and 4".2 south of the nucleus of MCG -01-53-6. A KAIT image of the same field on May 10.5 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 18.5).
