SUPERNOVA 2002dk IN NGC 6616

W. D. Li, University of California, reports the LOTOSS (cf. IAUC 7906) discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT CCD images on June 13.4 (mag about 18.0) and 14.2 UT (mag about 17.8). SN 2002dk is located at R.A. = 18h17m43s.52, Decl. = +22o14'53".4 (equinox 2000.0), which is 33".6 east and 35".3 north of the nucleus of NGC 6616. A KAIT image taken on June 7.4 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.0).
