SUPERNOVA 2002dq IN NGC 7051

D. Hutchings and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, report the LOTOSS (cf. IAUC 7906) discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT CCD images taken on June 18.5 (mag about 17.0) and 19.4 UT (mag about 17.1). SN 2002dq is located at R.A. = 21h19m49s.95, Decl. = -8 46'39".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 20".4 west and 19".0 north of the nucleus of NGC 7051. A KAIT image taken on June 9.5 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 18.0).
