SUPERNOVA 2002dw IN UGC 11376

D. Weisz and W. D. Li, University of California, report the LOTOSS (cf. IAUC 7906) discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on July 4.3 (mag about 18.9) and 5.3 UT (mag about 19.2). SN 2002dw is located at R.A. = 18h54m15s.25, Decl. = +48o55'37".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 8".1 east and 3".5 south of the nucleus of UGC 11376. Another (possibly cataclysmic) variable star (mag 19.7 on June 4.3; 19.4 on June 5.3), was found at position end figures 06s.41, 18".5. A KAIT image taken on June 27.3 showed nothing at these two positions (limiting mag about 20.0).
