D. Hutchings and W. Li report the LOTOSS (cf. IAUC 7906) discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 16.5) on an unfiltered KAIT image taken on Dec. 3.4 UT. The new object was confirmed at about the same brightness on images taken on Oct. 24.4 and Nov. 3.4. SN 2002jj is located at R.A. = 3h39m29s.55, Decl. = -13o06'55".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 7".0 east and 1".5 south of the center of IC 340. Images taken on Oct. 1.4 (limiting mag about 18) and Aug. 14.5 (limiting mag about 19) showed nothing at this position.
