SUPERNOVAE 2003el IN NGC 5000

Further to IAUC 8134, M. Papenkova and W. Li report the LOTOSS
discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken
on May 22.3 (mag about 18.8) and 23.3 UT (mag about 18.9).  SN
2003el is located at R.A. = 13h09m46s.20, Decl. = +28o54'21".6
(equinox 2000.0), which is 16".7 west and 2".7 south of the nucleus
of NGC 5000.  KAIT images taken on Apr. 19.3 (limiting mag about
19.0), and Mar. 7.3 (limiting mag about 19.6) showed nothing at
this position.
