SUPERNOVA 2003gr IN MCG -04-55-14

Further to IAUC 8168, M. Ganeshalingam and W. Li report the
LOTOSS discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images
taken on July 27.5 (mag about 16.3) and 28.5 UT (mag about 16.4).
SN 2003gr is located at R.A. = 23h38m12s.67, Decl. = -20o46'56".0
(equinox 2000.0), which is 5".9 west and 0".8 north of the nucleus
of MCG -04-55-14.  A KAIT image taken on 2002 Oct. 29.2 showed
nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.0).

Host galaxy info: vel = 7691 km/s, 1.1 x 0.8, 14.98, SB(s)a
