SUPERNOVAE 2003if IN NGC 1302

Further to IAUC 8201, M. Ganeshalingam and W. Li report the
LOTOSS/KAIT discovery of a supernova on unfiltered KAIT images
obtained on Sept. 20.5 (at mag 17.6) and 21.5 UT (at mag 17.7).
The new object is located at R.A. = 3h19m52s.61, Decl. =
-26o03'50".5 (equinox 2000.0), which is 19".3 east and 11".9 south
of the center of NGC 1302.  A KAIT image taken on Jan. 20.2 showed
nothing at this position (limiting mag 19.0).
