SUPERNOVA 2008G IN UGC 2851

Further to CBET 1202, P. Thrasher, W. Li, and A. V. Filippenko, University
of California at Berkeley, report the discovery of an apparent supernova on
unfiltered KAIT images taken on Jan. 1.28 (at mag 18.3), 12.29 (mag 18.1), and
13.27 UT (mag 18.1).  The new object is located at R.A. = 3h45m46s.02, Decl. =
+46o40'06".0 (equinox 2000.0), which is 23".3 east and 19".1 south of the
nucleus of UGC 2851.  A KAIT image taken on Dec. 15.28 showed nothing at this
location (limiting mag 19.4).
