SUPERNOVA 2008N IN NGC 4273

Further to CBET 1211, D. Winslow, W. Li, and A. V. Filippenko report
the discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on
Jan. 17.56 (at mag 17.8) and 18.57 UT (mag 18.0).  An image taken on 2007
Dec. 23.57 also showed a hint of the new object (under poor conditions).
SN 2008N is located at R.A. = 12h19m55s.78, Decl. = +5o20'21".3 (equinox
2000.0), which is 5".6 west and 14".3 south of the nucleus of NGC 4273.  A
KAIT image taken on 2007 May 10.18 showed nothing at this position (limiting
mag 19.0).
