deletes very temporary files, archives the .pht and .coo files, appends the nights observations to the catalog (CAT) file queues certain log files to be sent back to Berkeley consolidates the mail and sends a messages to the observers archives the data on stream backup tape
If an observation has SENDMAIL set to T then the procedure may send back a file to Berkeley. When this occurs the procedure will add a line to the file `sendmail.log' which contains the observers mail address, the file name and other interesting information. morning.csh sorts `sendmail.log' and consolidates the the line belonging to each observer and sends back a single message.
