BAIT: pfilter command

NAME

pfilter - positions the filter wheel

SYNOPSIS

pfilter [name] [all] [home]

DESCRIPTION

This positions the filter wheel to the filter `name' specified in the command line. If no arguments are specified it returns the name of the filter. If the `all' switch is specified it prints out the present Filter number and names of the filter bolt. The `home' option runs the filter to the `home' position and prints out the number of error counts (see tserver.man section on position_filter.) Caution The `home' flag returns the filter to slot number 0 unless a filter is specified in the command line.

Note that filter names are case sensitive and should not contain embedded spaces.

If and error occurs or the program cannot find the filter the status flag is set to 1, otherwise it is 0.

All the data are taken from the file $HOME_DIR/ ait.config.
