AO Operations Randy Campbell WM Keck Observatory has over 11 years experience using adaptive optics for scientific observations and approximately 6 of those years have included laser guide star adaptive optics, LGSAO. WMKO formed an AO Operations team that focuses its efforts on observing support, calibrations, maintenance, and ongoing improvements to the system. The AO Ops team works to achieve high performance while meeting the scientific needs of the community of approximately 120 nights per year. An overview of Keck's AO systems, the operations, and some of the calibration procedures that are routinely carried out will be discussed. An LGSAO science example will also be presented; OSIRIS observations of the classical nova, V723 Cassiopeia.
