SUPERNOVA 2011D IN UGC 2498
Further to CBET 2596, A. Narla, S. B. Cenko, W. Li, and A. V. Filippenko report the Lick Observatory Supernova Search discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images, as tabulated below. An independent discovery was later reported by the CRTS group (cf. CBET 2619; S. Howerton, Arkansas City, KS, U.S.A.; A. J. Drake, S. G. Djorgovski, A. Mahabal, M. J. Graham, and R. Williams, California Institute of Technology; J. L. Prieto, Carnegie Observatories; M. Catelan, Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile; E. C. Beshore and S. M. Larson, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, University of Arizona; and E. Christensen, Gemini Observatory) via public images from the Catalina Sky Survey (CSS). 2011 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag.
