  • Academic genealogy (2/3 way down the page) goes back to 1822 and includes Fowler, Chandrasekhar, Wien, and Helmholtz. The tree started in Cambridge UK and Germany and migrated westward to Columbia/MIT/Princeton/Chicago/California.

  • Here is proof that Chung-Pei has been near a telescope. And she was the only one who stayed awake.

  • Secret life? In her past, Chung-Pei studied violin performance at the New England Conservatory of Music. Her teachers included Masuko Ushioda, Lucy Chapman, and Stephanie Chase. She joined many of Masuko's colleagues and current/former students in this memorial performance of the middle two movements of Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings in Jordan Hall on September 29, 2013.
