AO Instrument Operation

For the GPIES team, I serve as one of the instrument operators during campaign observing runs. This involves monitoring the high-order AO system and troubleshooting problems if they arise, as well as operating and safeguarding the rest of the instrument's components. It requires knowledge of GPI's opto-mechanical configuration and computer control for the AO system, CAL unit, and IFS.

Infrared Instrumentation

As a graduate student at UCLA, I was a member of the UCLA Infrared Lab and part of a team upgrading the imager portion of the OSIRIS instrument on the Keck 1 telescope.
